Isteri tahanan ISA ke Parlimen bantah Najib

KUALA LUMPUR- PAS bercadang membawa isteri-isteri tahanan terbaru di bawah Akta Keselamatan Dalam Negeri (ISA) ke Parlimen bagi menyerahkan memorandum bantahan kepada Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Ahli Jawatankuasa PAS Pusat, Mazlan Aliman (gambar) berkata, beliau sudah memaklumkan perkara itu kepada Ahli Parlimen PAS dan pihaknya akan berbincang dengan Gerakan Mansuhkan ISA (GMI) untuk memudahkan urusan membawa mereka dari Sabah.

“Saya sudah menghubungi Ahli Parlimen PAS dan kita akan bekerjasama dengan GMI untuk membawa isteri-isteri tahanan sementara sidang Parlimen masih berbaki dua minggu,” kata beliau ketika menghubungi Harakahdaily.

HONG KONG OPEN: Chong Wei to face nemesis Lin Dan in semis

Lee Chong Wei is headed for an epic battle with Lin Dan in the Hong Kong Open semifinals today.

World No 1 Chong Wei cruised into the men’s singles semi-finals after defeating India‘s Ajay Jayaram  21-16, 21-13.

The Malaysian needed only 31 minutes to beat Ajay, ranked 34th in the world in the RM791,301 tournament.

However,  Chong Wei is braced for a stormy time against Lin Dan, the Olympic champion from China.

BEATING noisy neighbours and hosts Indonesia in their backyard on Thursday indicates that Malaysia are capable of defending the gold medal won in Vientiane two years ago.

FA of Malaysia president Sultan Ahmad Shah said the national team, after their morale boosting 1-0 win against Indonesia at the Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta, should now focus on beating Myanmar in the semi-final today and march into the final on Monday to clinch the gold medal.

After being ferried into Gelora Bung Karno in armoured personnel carriers on Thursday, the national football players will arrive for today’s semi-final against Myanmar in more traditional means.

Defending champions Malaysia gear up for the last four battle in confident mood having survived the stiffest test to their credentials by beating hosts Indonesia 1-0 to top Group A.

Defender Fadhli Shas, who made a similar entrance into the stadium at last year’s AFF Cup final here, said players fought for air and space as up to 10 people were crammed into each Barracuda vehicle.

“The last time there were seven in each Barracuda. This time 10 of us were inside one and it became difficult to breathe and some were cramping.
