Sarawak‘s budget again offers ‘clandestine fiscal allocations’ to several ‘approved agencies’.
KUCHING: More than 50% of the RM3,263 billion development fund in the Sarawak government’s 2012 budget has been allocated to ‘faceless’ agencies, according to opposition assemblymen here.
Said Kota Sentosa assemblyman Chong Chieng Jen: “Nobody knows what these agencies are?”

Taib Mahmud : Chief Minister of Sarawak since 1982

DAP’s bid to get an update on the government’s action in relation to a global investigation against Chief Minister Taib Mahmud was once again shot down.
KUCHING: Will the Sarawak Legislative Assembly ever entertain questions about the international probes on its Chief Minister Taib Mahmud? Not likely, going by the Speaker’s latest rejection.
According to a disappointed Padungan assemblyman Wong King Wei, the Speaker had ‘no reason’ to reject his question on the probes carried out by Switzerland, Germany and Australia against Taib.

Nature's Landscape in Bakun Dam's Site
When one talks about Bakun, naturally what comes to mind is the Bakun Hydro Dam, the size of which is 13 times larger than the whole of Singaporeisland. Bakun is located in Belaga and the second biggest hydro dam in the world which is located right in central Borneo island.
The hydro is projected to supply cheap electricity power for the country and even being proposed to be exported to neighbouring countries such like Brunei, Indonesia and even toThailand. Bakun is part of Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE), which encompassing an area of 70,000 sq km.

LEE Hup Wei meraih emas dengan membuat lompatan 2.15m.
Lompat tinggi, 4x400m, terjun menjadi penyumbang kontinjen
JAGUH lompat tinggi, Lee Hup Wei merakamkan hatrik Sukan SEA apabila memenangi pingat emas ketiga berturut-turut sejak 2007 acara lelaki di Jakarta, semalam pada hari yang menyaksikan acara terjun menjadi penyumbang terbesar dengan dua emas.
Selain kejayaan Hup Wei, olahraga turut menyumbang satu lagi emas menerusi kuartet lelaki 4×400 meter lelaki manakala jaguh terjun wanita, Leong MunYee turut melakar nama di Palembang apabila mengutip emas kedua peribadi selepas bergandingan dengan Traisy Vivien Tukiet memenangi acara 10m platform berirama wanita.

OLAHRAGA menceriakan kem Malaysia di Palembang, semalam apabila meraih dua pingat emas menerusi Lee Hup Wei yang mencatat hatrik emas di Sukan SEA dengan lompatan 2.15 meter dan kuartet 4X400 meter lelaki di Stadium Olahraga Jakabaring, Palembang, semalam.
Ketika pemenang emas temasya Korat 2007 dan Laos 2009 itu sudah diduga sekalipun membuat penampilan kompetitif pertama sejak pembedahan buku lali Mac lalu, kemenangan kuartet 1,600 meter yang dibarisi Muhammad Yunus Lasaleh, S Kannathasan, P Yuvaraaj dan Schzuan Ahmad Rosely yang mencatat 3 minit 10.47 saat untuk menewaskan kuartet Filipina dan Thailand, cukup mengejutkan.
Hup Wei membuktikan dia masih jaguh di rantau ini apabila mengenepikan atlit Thailand, Pramkote Pumurai yang memenangi perak (2.12m) manakala gangsa dimenangi atlit Vietnam, Nguyen Duy Bang (2.08m).
